This has been an exciting week for The Yellow Table–in case you haven't seen the story, we were featured on Design*Sponge!! They included one of my recipes (a spring Ramp, Asparagus, and Arugula Linguine) and Signe Birck's gorgeous photography. I absolutely love Design*Sponge and it was a huge honor to be on their site!

It's been hard keeping quiet for the past month, but now that the story is out, I wanted to share some fun behind-the-scenes shots from our D*S shoot. The recipe and story idea was inspired back in early April when I noticed the first ramps and asparagus at the market. Of course I had to buy some of each, and since Signe was coming over the next day to shoot some recipes, I decided to create a fresh, lemony spring pasta full of ramps, asparagus, baby arugula.

I have been a huge fan of D*S Food Editor Kristina Gill's "In the Kitchen With" column for years and it was a pleasure working with her on this. I also owe a huge debt of gratitude to my friend (and wonderfully-talented photographer) Jen Altman, for the D*S introduction and encouragement to pitch the story idea. Thanks Jen!

But of course, none of this would be possible without my wonderful collaboration with Signe. She is such a pleasure to work with and honestly, there is something magical that happens when she captures food on camera. She has such a gift for making food look beautiful, and even simple ingredients like asparagus look downright delicious through her lens.

I've included a few fun behind-the-scenes shots from our day of shooting back in April. The bowls of pasta and asparagus bunch above didn't make it into D*S, but I absolutely love these shots. The ones below I just took with my iphone, but they show Signe hard at work, and Pipa (one of my cats) lounging on set. Later that day, we also shot Garlicky Shrimp with White Wine and Tomatoes. Which meant we had a particularly delicious lunch after the shoot was over!! I'm looking forward to many more collaborations with Signe...exciting things are in the works!
